The boredom paradox.

The reason I wanted to write this blog is because it will only be relevant and applicable to a very small amount of people.

If you are the type of person who this blog is for you are getting VERY tetchy right now.

A day or two off at Christmas was a nice treat but now you are itching to get back to work.

You have lots of new goals and targets for 2025 you want to make a head start on but you are fighting the voice inside your head that is telling you to take a rest.

You have loved ones, family or partners moaning at you for not being present.

Even when you do try and do work everyone else is on the go slow so you can't get anything done that involves anyone other than yourself.

It's frustrating isn't it.

While I definitely think there is a conversation to be had about how we can all become more present, I actually think these feelings are GOOD for business.

When we are running business day to day I don't think any of us, myself included, realise how much of our time is firefighting.

Silly little tasks that take up energy and mental bandwidth mean we have less room for the real game changing and innovative ideas.

This period, allow yourself to be bored!

Boredom and white space in our mind is where the very best ideas come from.

I have a little notepad handy and am just noting down any ideas but deliberately not working on them just yet.

I want to ruminate on them and create an itch so that when I fully get stuck in next Monday I'm raring to go with making 2025 the best year yet.

P.S. This is the first of these blogs I have written in my new house and it's unbelievable how creative I feel, get your environment sorted and it will help more than you can believe!
